This easy vegan chocolate mousse dessert is by far one of my favorite healthy sweets to have! It’s creamy, silky, fluffy, and rich but it is also protein-rich and heart-healthy.
Easy Vegan Chocolate Mousse
Chocolate mousse has been my favorite dessert ever since I can remember. I just love the fluffy, yet smooth texture and of course the rich chocolatey taste. I have tried to recreate a perfect vegan chocolate mousse recipe for a while now. It is never fluffy enough, silky enough, and most of the time it just turns out like chocolate pudding haha. So believe me when I say that I’m STOKED to share it with you all!
This easy vegan chocolate mousse is definitely a “fancy-restaurant style” chocolate mousse without the actual work. It is so easy to whip up and usually takes about 10-15 minutes of actual labor to get it prepped. This is the perfect dessert for birthdays, Valentine’s day, or any just a normal day of the week 🙂 It’s also high in protein and low glycemic, just look at these ingredients:
Tips and Substitutes:
Silken tofu: This is where the protein comes from and it also provides a great silky texture so I don’t recommend substituting it. You can find silken tofu at almost any grocery store like Safeway and Costco.
Dark Chocolate: I love to use 70% cocoa dark chocolate. I recommend using good-quality chocolate for this recipe because it is the main star. I love using the brands Beyond Good or Hu for a great, vegan, and sustainable option.
Coconut cream vs Avocado: This is where the fat component comes in. Coconut cream is a saturated fat and avocado is monounsaturated/polyunsaturated fats (the healthy kind). If you’re watching your cholesterol I recommend using avocado for this recipe. However, coconut fat in moderation is a-okay!
Sweetener: Agave or maple syrup is the best choice for this recipe. Those with diabetes can use monk fruit (same amount) or 1-2 tablespoons of stevia.
Toppings for Easy Vegan Chocolate Mousse
I love to add things to my chocolate mousse. Here is a list of some of my favorite toppings:
- Berries, especially strawberries
- Cherries
- Coconut whipped cream
- Bakery on Main granola (I used Monster Cookie)
- Chocolate shavings

Hello! I was at the store and noticed that there were multiple textures for the Silken tofu. My store had soft, firm, and extra firm. What do you recommend? Thank you!
Hi Chris,
I’ve never seen options for my silken tofu. I would probably choose the one in the middle (firm). If it’s silken, it should work!
